A Message from Cecil: Unlocking the Portals! New Pin Colors!
over 1 year ago – Sun, Oct 20, 2024 at 11:23:50 AM

WE'VE done it! Thanks to the extra funds we had after the journey, I was able to  thoroughly investigate these wondrous portals.

It appears each of the Phoenixes is attuned to one of the portals here. I've been poring over the books within the library atop the mountain and I believe I'm beginning to understand how to unlock these portals for travel! It's truly astonishing! I had no idea where they lead...until about an hour ago.

I was preparing this amazing contraption with a helmet and shiny metal gloves to venture through the portal myself. But Cosmo, ever daring, decided to fly through. Suffice it to say, I was worried, but in just a matter of moments Cosmo was BACK through the portal with a friend!

Another Galaxy phoenix, with a very different color scheme. I'm astounded! This is stupendous! You can't imagine what this could mean! There's so much more to learn about where these portals go, and it seems like there are more phoenixes for us to save on the other side.

We need supplies to remain here in the mountains, so I'll need to ask for your help once more. I'll continue looking through the rest of these books to ensure we can unlock each of these portals and find out who awaits on the other side.

I also have an inkling that I might find a way to send myself to your world in these tomes. Which would be wonderful, I'm so excited for the opportunity to meet all of you and thank you personally for everything that you've done.

More Stretch Goals! Phoenix Recolors
over 1 year ago – Tue, Oct 15, 2024 at 06:44:41 PM

Hey everyone!  While Cecil is off exploring the Brightpeak Mountains, we’ve been hard at work planning some exciting Stretch Goals for the second half of the campaign!

We’re thrilled to introduce recolored variants of the Phoenixes you’ve already unlocked—think of them as the “Shiny” versions. Imagine a Fire Phoenix with blazing blue flames or a Ghost Phoenix shrouded in an eerie, ghastly green!

As the campaign continues, we'll start unlocking some of these variants. This way you have even more options to choose from at the end of the campaign.

In order to finalize these next stretch goals, we need your help!

Tell us your favorite variants and we'll make sure to put the most popular colorations first! The poll is open until Thursday at 10 PM PST!

A Message from Cecil: We did it!
over 1 year ago – Thu, Oct 10, 2024 at 08:54:24 PM

Adventurers! We've done it! Everything that we set out to do just two days ago has been accomplished!

The angelic phoenix has been saved, and so have all the rest!

The Brightpeak Mountains had the most glorious view, and from atop the old wizard tower there I discovered the Angelic phoenix standing vigil over a set of magical portals within the tower. I don't know where they go or what they're for, but they seem important!

Now that we've rescued these Phoenixes, I'm going to hole up in the tower for a few days and do my favorite thing. EXPERIMENT!

I'll be back to you in a few days with the next step in our adventure, once I figure out what these portals do.

I'm sure it'll be quite exciting! You should try and get some rest too; it's been quite a week!

And remember, we don't have to do this alone, make sure to tell your friends of all the wondrous things we've accomplished together, and they can join us as well!

A Message From Cecil: From Caverns to Angelic Peaks
over 1 year ago – Wed, Oct 09, 2024 at 08:35:20 AM

Thank you again for all your help!
I'm reporting back from the Howling Caverns where I've managed to locate the Dark Phoenix.

They were frightening at first. The wind howling through the caverns, sounds like the crying of ghosts, and the dim, flickering light from my small lantern provided little comfort. The Ghost Phoenix assured me it was just the wind so I ventured further into the caves, but after several hours of searching I was worried I wouldn't find the Dark Phoenix at all.

Suddenly I had an epiphany and doused my lantern! It was scary to sit in the dark with all the howling, but surely enough, once the lights went out, the Dark Phoenix approached. Even the dim light from my lantern was too bright and hurt their eyes!

After some coaxing, I convinced them to wear the special lenses that you provided to protect their sensitive eyes and leave the cave with me.

Our next stop will be the Brightpeak Mountains where I hope to find the Angelic Phoenix

A Message from Cecil: Songs, Ghosts, and Caverns!
over 1 year ago – Tue, Oct 08, 2024 at 08:15:29 PM

This is wonderful, absolutely wonderful. You're wonderful! All of you are wonderful! I couldn't be happier! My feet are aching from this long trek, but the cause and your passion drive me forward! Thank you so much!

We've made so much progress today because of your help, let me tell you all about the journey before I make camp and head to sleep!

Frostbite Basin

First, I travelled deep into Frostbite Basin to locate the spectacular Ice Phoenix. I followed the sound of their song as it echoed through the icy canyon. I found their nest in the glittering frost illuminated by the light from their wings. But this phoenix was already all alone. I'm not sure what happened to their companions. I used the Ice Phoenix call I practiced to join in with their song. Once they accepted me into their performance they were happy to travel along with me to safety. If you adopt the Ice Phoenix, make sure to give them lots of love.

Whisper Village

I journeyed on immediately to Whisper Village in search of the Ghost Phoenix -- but it wasn't much of a search. As soon as I entered the village, I was approached by what I thought was a ghost but was actually the phoenix itself! Whisper Village is very old, and the phoenix took me to all the interesting relics from long ago. When I told them about the rising danger, they didn't believe me at first. But by the end of our tour, I had convinced them to come along. This is perfect timing, because ghost phoenixes don't need to sleep, so we'll have a guard tonight as we set up for camp.

Tomorow, we begin our journey to the Howling Caverns in search of the Dark Phoenix.

Thank you again for all of your help!
